I've had both SIRIUS and XM. I personally think it's not worth it. The sound quality is HORRIBLE and they play COMMERCIALS! Some XM channels will keep telling you what's going on at the other channel. Commercial free my ***!

I bought an iPod and 3,100 songs later, it's better than any SIRIUS or XM radio.

I've had Sirius for 5 years now, wife has an XM radio in her car. Sirius radios are much better, higher quality, easier to use. I have the Sirius Sportster 4 and the Stilletto. Both are great. Plus, you can now get the Best Of XM on your Sirius radio.

Just buy the Sirius Sportster radio. You get all the Sirius channels and have the option of adding the "Best of XM" package. They even have an a la carte option now where you can add only the channels you want.

Actually either WILL work even after the merge, but I believe they make a Sirius/XM specific radio that is new, but in the end it doesn't matter.

I would buy a Sirius radio though since XM isn't making new radios anymore.

You will love Sirius, it's the best thing ever invented.

Sirius, I have both and I am over-all more impressed with Sirius, a lot better signal at least here in Oregon going through all the passes. Also Sirius is the one who bought out XM, so I would stick with Sirius.

You should buy - either. It's great radio with lots of variety. Channels from each are available on both and there will be multi-compatible equipment widely available soon. There are some beta models and adapters around if you search.

Your best bet may beto buy a used receiver on eBa or Craigslist and wait until the universal receiver is available before spending a lot of money. But the subscription is well worth it. Be sure to check the channel line-ups especially if you're a sports fan - as they are still different enough to make a difference regarding your choice.

I think it sucks. Dropout are constant music quality is well below FM radio and they have way too many commercials.
