In most cases, they tend to be middle of the road.
Depending on the contest, you may be closer, or father away from the stage. The radio station cannot do a thing about where the seats are located. The Station is given the tickets by the concert organizers to try and drum up business (by on air advertising with free giveaways and what not).
The only job of the station is to give the tickets away in some sort of contest (or employees).

My experience has been pretty good. They are not the best seats but they aren't the worst either. My theory is, they're free so enjoy the show!

Only if they announce where the seats are in advance, like 1st row or 2nd row. Otherwise if they don't announce where the seats are, they are generally in the middle to the back.Have fun.
