I like listening to satellite radio more than fm radio because satellite radio has more of a variety of good music and they play better songs than fm radio. FM radio just plays the some boring mainstream songs of today like 59 times a day while satellite radio plays different songs from underground music, old mainstream and songs that aren't played on regular radio anymore. And satellite radio is commercial free! Not to mention, satellite radio also plays 90's eurodance songs.

Now, I know you can get satellite radio in your car and listen to it in your car, but I'm wondering if they can make it where you can also listen to Satellite Radio in your house on a special boombox. I know you can listen to satellite radio on your computer, but can they like install wireless internet and satellite radio on special boomboxes with special effects so you can listen to satellite radio in your house and take it with you in the public on a boombox?

Maybe that's something new they should invent and come out with later in the future.

All I know is I listen to Satellite Radio more than FM radio because satellite radio plays much better music than FM radio does!

So should they make a way where you can listen to Satellite Radio in your house on digital boomboxes?

I'd really like that a lot, what about you?

There are over 1000 choices of Sirius XM/Satellite Radios; some for the car, some on the go, and some for the home. You can have multiple devices on a contract - for your listening pleasure. You can use a tablet, smartphone or computer connected to wifi, to listen and send the sound to your speakers, stereo, home sound system virtually free - if you already have a radio in the car with service.

A Dock & Play kit starts at just under $50 to take a portable unit with you - like some use an i-pad, i-pod, i-phone in the car, home or office.

There is the internet option, which costs a very modest additional amount per month as part of an existing subscription. There are still a few receivers that are completely portable. (I have - and love - an XMp3i, which is pretty reliable as far as holding a signal goes if you are outdoors.) And there is the late, lamented Lynx (inexplicably discontinued, even though I think it is by far the best XM receiver ever made) which works as a mini-boombox receiver. (It has its own home dock WITH BUILT-IN SPEAKER!) It uses either the satellite signal or WiFi and is also usable as a portable listening device, although not to live programming (i.e., you can listen to whatever you've recorded on the device). It also has the most attractive display of any XM receiver to date. The Lynx is no longer manufactured, so expect to pay a premium for a new unit, but there are still refurbished units and still the eBay/Craigslist option.

Another possibility - take an older receiver and pair it up with one of the home dock/boomboxes still available in the aftermarket. I have several of these and they are capable of very nice sound quality and - if you get lucky - are available for a reasonable price. Models include SiriusXM SXABB1, SiriusXM SXABB2, and AudioVox XMAS100, These will only work with somewhat older units - the Lynx is NOT compatible with any of these, I believe - but a state of the art receiver is only going to add a few fringe channels in the 500s. You can pick up an Onyx online for next to nothing and that's a receiver that's compatible with either of the SXABB home docks.
