I know dance is HUGE in the UK and throughout Europe but isn't that popular in the United States. If a dance music station were to pop into your city, would you tune in? And do you think the format could be successful?

It could work...

There are some that advertise "dance," but are really just Top40 stations. Here's a list of dance stations in the US:

You would have to have a good marketing blitz, as well as pick the right market (you'd compete w/o other top stations: Pop, Top20/40). If you have all that, then yes, it'll have a huge potential.

I'd listen (San Diego,SoCal).

But who really knows? (One will just have to venture out and...)

It's pretty big in Canada, especially Montreal as well. Then again Montreal is a party city, and safe. The downtown streets are just as packed at 3:00 AM as 3:00 PM.

In America Las Vegas has a couple of dance and "party" stations. Everywhere else it seems as it Top 40, Hip Hop, or Country is it. Too bad because some dance music is sensational. Thank God for streaming internet radio stations. I listen to European, and Canadian stations all the time.

European Radio is far more diverse and better than just about any American station. American commercial radio is boring, advertisement-saturated and repetitive. Variety or diversity is not (no longer) part of American FM radio.

i've got asked a Radio business enterprise in my section to play dance track, yet they by no skill hear. except you reside in a extensive city like long island, probability is you wont discover a lot dance, except you circulate to satellite tv for pc radio. -- Sorry to hearken to approximately that, All i will say is powerful luck

Absofreakinlutely. With all the emphasis on exercise, it would be great to have "dance music" available while using the treadmill or stairstepper.

And, yes, I would listen all day.
