Does anyone know if there any italian radio stations in nyc (or the surrounding area) that are not just online stations? Thanks

Other than "Radio Italy Live" (which is an on-line station) there are no radio stations in NYC broadcasting 24h, but if you check the website below you'll find a list of radio stations with programs that focus on Italian music and/or culture.

There is also ICN, it is online but also uses a sub carrier FM signal. You would need an FM radio capable of tuning sub carriers, or listen online at ICN.com The benefit of listening to ICN is that they are a local station and have (at least last time I tuned in months ago) local newscasts and other programming.

I live in Naples, and the most popular station here is 'Kiss Kiss Napoli' they play a wide mix, from love songs to Green Day. If your into metal or hardcore (like me) you're going to have a very hard time finding something to listen to on the radio.........bring CDs.
