when i call into a radio station...?

im trying to call into my fav radio station right now and it just keeps beeping (then hanging up) does the beep mean its not going though or that its ringing?

Most stations have multiple lines that roll over to the next one if it's not busy. So jock actually but them on hold as not to have to answer them.

If you never hear that tone before and it's not like a busy tone then it might be the number you are dialing isn't working right....cellphone callers get it often.

If you were trying for a contest, best thing to do is to call the number ahead of time so it's in your phone memory so you can just press re-dial.

Try that number at a later time to see if you still get that weird beep.

I've found out with our local station that they are doing cut backs. So, for times that past the regular hours, they have a preprogram that is being played. I was getting frusturated trying to call in, in the evenings to ask a question and only to find out... there wasn't anyone there! Me to was calling in to be answer and hear the radio thru the phone and no one there was answering either. I would recommend calling during regular business hours to see what is going on. That's what I did to find out about the preprogram show.

KassLee There was probably not a live person there to answer the phone if you called after a certain time. More and more stations are using computers to run there stations in the evenings and late at night.
