I've been an XM guy for a long time, and I was excited about the merger, but I think the Sirius programming is terrible. Most of the channels play the same song at least 10 times a day (and at the same time every day) The channels that were decent on XM are gone, and they've been replaced with garbage...it makes me sick... All Lithium plays is Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Green Day with the occasional other garbage mixed in..Don't get me wrong, I love the bands..well, except green day... but if I wanted to hear them all day I'd turn on the Classic Rock station for free.... Faction is nothing but Jason Ellis rambling about nothing and playing the same 4 songs over and over again... It sucks. Ugh... ok well tell me what you think. Thanks.

It funny you say that, because I've been a Sirius subscriber for 4 years, we just had some of our channels replaced by the XM equivalents.

I absolutely hate the new versions of channels 5, 6, 7 and 8. I always thought the Sirius versions of those channels were much, much better. The XM channel 5 plays songs from all over the decade instead of focusing on the early days of rock and roll like the Sirius 5 used to. To me it feels like there is zero continuity between Elvis and Perry Como, yet they push it anyway. The old Sirius channel 5 didn't use the decade as a cutoff line, instead it play songs from the late 50's and early 60's. Although technically they went into a new decade, it was the same genre of music, and it fit well together. Now I'm stuck with them playing something classic like Roy Orbison and then following it with some early 50's Doris Day song that should be on the standards station instead.

I've written to Sirius several times about my dissatisfaction over the channel change, but their "customer care" department continues to send back the same canned email. I really think they DON'T care what the customers have to say. They would have been better off leaving things alone.

I too had XM and Sirius and was not happy with either service. XM has sound quality issues. Because they have over 170 channels, they compress their signal causing sound quality issues. Sirius had signal problems because they only have one satellite over north america at a time. So no matter where I placed the antenna I would lose the signal while driving under trees and bridges. I dropped both after buying my Ipod. Now, I can pick and choose what I want when I want with no reception or sound problems. Plus alot of talk shows offer free podcasts! Plus I am not convinced the XM/Sirius merger would save customers money. History shows that monopoly companies increased their subscription rates while their quality and customer service suffer. I mean my cable bill is $80 a month and the only extra I have is HBO...C'MON! Oops, off subject...I would much rather take $13 a month and invest in a music library via itunes.

I thought XM had a better mix overall, but I suppose it's too soon to tell.

I do miss XM Saturday night which was a program on Lucy, XM 54.

I've heard that some of Sirius's Rock programming had more of a hard edge to it, then XM's rock programming did. Especially when it comes to the alternative rock stuff.

I do miss Fine Tuning though, which was XM's eclectic station. Kind of just a random hodge-podge of stuff.
