I AM CHOOSING TO RUN 4 ANTENNAS, I HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS WILL AFFECT SWR?
if i run them straight into the radio will it make a bit of difference? two 4 foot firestiks in front,

yeah, to probably make this work without a lot of expense do this:

make three 200 ohm dummy loads by using a 200 ohm 2 or 3 watt (not wirewound) resistor soldered to a PL259

Use adjustable cb antennas

install one antenna, and the 3 dummy loads in to the other 3 mounts

adjust that antenna for lowest SWR

remove one of the 200 ohm dummy loads, and install the 2nd antenna

adjust that antenna for lowest SWR

repeat for the 3rd & 4th antennas

as long as the SWR stays below 2.0:1, you should be OK

IF the SWR stays over 2.0, change coax to 75 ohm or 100 ohm and start over

Hi there

Having 4 verticals is most certainly a possible configuration and this is called '4 square'.

They have to be connected to each other with a phasing harnesses.

Impedances will probably have to be matched , and spacings between the antennas are critical.

As with any vertical a suitable ground plane is required beneath it and this will be essentially impossible to achieve on any vehicle smaller than a bus or the trailer behind a prime mover.

A 4 square antenna system is a highly directional and high gain antenna , with literally 4 times the gain over a single antenna.

I wouldn't bother with size reduced antennas such as firesticks though , and the two 2 foot whips are -- well , a joke.....both are highly inefficient.

Marc X is right. could not say it extra suitable. the only element i will upload is that construction your individual antenna in all possibility won't save any funds, yet would desire to be relaxing and additionally you may desire to check lots from doing it. additionally, to confirm if the antenna is working properly you like a SWR meter. This tells you techniques lots capability is being meditated returned from the antenna as a replace of being transmitted.

Using that setup will dramatically decrease your transmit/receive range and could also increase your SWR. The most effective antenna setup is a single antenna in the center of the vehicle.
