Wow, do we get this question a lot! There are many opinions, here's mine honed finely over time.

I have both. Originally bought XM. When I got my Magnum R/T I got Sirius included. But let the subscription run out after the first year and went back to XM. There are very minor differences in the major music categories. You'll choose because of the few stations you listen to most often.

Don't forget to consider the receiver. You'll have to do some research there as well. Whether to go portable or installed in your car. I have a portable XM unit in my car that I can transfer to the house and listen thru my system. I also have Sirius built into my car stereo, but as I mentioned, after the year I dropped Sirius and went back to XM.

Both have similar products and channels at similar pricing. And, again right now, both are about $13/mo. The available channels, with certain notable exceptions are very similar. For instance Howard Stern fans prefer Sirius.

You can listen to both online (below) and make your decision. Not all stations are on line but there's a good sampling.

Be sure to take special note of the sports channels. They are quite different, so if you're a sports fan, this will be important to you.

I didn't like the Sirius Comedy Channel, preferred XM's. So that's why I went back to XM and have been happy.

BUT everything's going to change pretty soon. The two will probably merge into one company and you'll be able to pick between the two full services, at $13. Or select your favorite 50 channels from both and get that at a special rate of $6-$7. There will also be other deals available if the merger is approved.

My advice is to check the available receivers, be sure to shop around at Costco, Sam's etc and also the big electronic outlets like Circuit City and Best Buy. Then check the channel titles and descriptions, sample both services online and pick the one that you like best.

In any case, go ahead and grab one, if the merger goes through it will benefit all.

Well Really All I can tell you is take a 3 day trial at there website. I feel that XM radio is better for music. I've had both services and i Can strongly say XM radio has the best programming! The Sound Quility on XM is better than Sirius and the price of Sirius and XM is the same 12.95 a month. I think Sirius has a better talk and entertianment programming of adults. But I can say Music programming on XM is the best you will ever hear on satellite radio.

Go with XM, I'm a DJ, and man, if more people used XM, I would be out of a job. All the music they play is fresh, new, and just awesome. I usto be a major critic of satellite radio, I usto have Sirius, I thought it SUCKED. But then I heard XM, and I honestly think it is the greatest radio ever.

I like the quality of XM more, I can hear the difference. Price-wise, they are both the same. XM is the best source of music in your car short of just carrying me around with you! LOL

I have Sirius and I would have to say Sirius but not just because I have it.

Sirius has a better signal. The creator of Satellite radio said XM had to split the feed and jumped into production with out the best technology in an attempt to the first in the market.

Sirius has more sports stations with tons more personality.

XM doesn't havea wide selection of people.,Such as Tiki Barber, Tony Stewart, Martha Stewart, and Howard Stern.

XM has Opie and Anthony and Oprah. Doesn't compare.

Sirius has 23 Rock stations by the way. NBA, NFL and NASCAR. NASCAR audio is in car. You hear the driver, pit crew, spotter etc.

Also Maxim, Cosmo and Playboy have a channel.

When they had the hearing for the merger, Mel Karmazin (CEO) said they would most likely keep the Sirius music channels and keep XM's Weather and Traffic reports.

That line up is enough for me to say Sirius over XM.

I've had both, and I personally prefer Sirius. The cost is similar for both, but the programming with Sirius is much better. However, I guess it's really a matter of personal preference. For example, if you're a sports fan, certain sports are carried by Sirius, while XM carries others. Sirius has an all Elvis channel, and I'm a HUGE fan, so that's kind of why I went with them in the first place.

Sirius satellite tv for pc by far! it has Howard stern,Ememin,Martha steward, NFL soccer and its transforming into thrice as quickly as XM.. do no longer purchase Xm radio you would be sorry. Sirius is plenty extra advantageous.

It won't really matter because XM and Sirius will be merging by the end of the year which will give you twice the channels to listen to.

Personally I have XM so I can't say anything bad about Sirius.

I have both XM and SIRIUS and I much prefer SIRIUS. The programming is far superior. There is also talk of XM adding commercials to their music stations due to lack of membership. Who wants that?

I think XM. Don't like Howard Stern and can't support a staion that would have his filth on the air.

SIRIUS!!! If I didn't have this service my days would be awful. They have such a wide variety to choose from that you would be hard pressed to not find something you enjoy. I have never had a problem with my reception and for the price it is way worth it. Good luck and enjoy....
